Wedding season is here!

We’ve got the hot choices for first dance songs in 2019! We love tracking the songs couples are choosing to celebrate their first dance as newlyweds. We compiled an amazing list of what will be popular first dance songs this year. Take a listen, get the feels, and above all, get ready for wedding season! Some are new hits, while others are timeless classics love birds keep coming back to!

1. “Speechless” by Dan + Shay

Dan + Shay are killing it when it comes to first dance songs. They stole hearts with "From The Ground Up" in the past few years, but “Speechless” is sure to be a favorite this year. The video even chronicles their own weddings! They must have liked it so much, they knew it belonged in their own weddings!

2. “Beyond” by Leon Bridges

We love Leon for a lot of reasons, but mainly for bringing soul back to the first dance. His previous hit, "Home", is quickly proving to be a classic first dance choice, but “Beyond” is beginning to win couples over as well. We can be sure to catch a lot of soul this year with “Beyond” being a top choice for couples, and we undoubtedly support it!

3. “Millionaire” by Chris Stapleton

Chris Stapleton is a favorite in our office. He blew us away with his debut solo album Traveller and everyone fell in love with "Tennessee Whiskey" as a fun choice for the first dance (especially for those couples who like to get their drink on)! Stapleton’s “Millionnaire” off his second solo album From a Room: Volume 2, is quickly winning hearts too. We’re impressed with Stapleton in general, but now impressed with his lovesong writing ability too!

4. “Greatest Love Story” by LANCO

“Greatest Love Story” is the quintessential love ballad for couples that grew up together, spent some time apart, and then found their back to each other. What’s not to love about that love story? This may be a tearjerker if you’re a couple that can relate and it’s sure to be a great first dance choice for many, especially for all y’all country fans!

5. “You Are The Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne

This one is an undeniable classic. “You Are The Best Thing” has been a favorite since Ray LaMontagne released it on his 2008 Gossip in the Grain album. It’s perfect for soulfool folk lovers and perfect for those that know their better half is the best thing that ever happened to them. We’ve enjoyed this song for a long time, and count on it remaining a favorite choice in 2019.

6. “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran is beginning to have an impressive amount of first dance hits. Couples still love to dance to "Thinking Out Loud" from his 2014 album X. But since “Perfect” debuted in 2017, it was undeniably going to find its way into couples hearts and their first dance. We think “Perfect” is, well, perfect for a first dance song. And, we’re excited to hear Ed’s next first dance hit, we know it will be here soon!

7. “You Are The Reason” by Calum Scott

“You Are The Reason” is getting a whole lot of attention from couples since Calum Scott released it in 2018, and rightly so! When we first heard it we knew it had a lot of potential to be a first dance favorite. We expect a lot of couples to use it for their first dance in 2019, and we’re excited to see those dances happen!

8. “Let’s Stay Together” by Al Green

We can’t stop listening to this one. It’s a constant classic choice for couples that want a little soul in their first dance. It’s one of those songs you want to dance to every time it comes on, and we think that’s why couples love it so much. It’s an oldie but goodie, and we can expect it to be another favorite this year as in years past.

9. “At Last” by Etta James

If there was a winner for best first dance song ever, “At Last” might be it. It’s full of soul, a classy choice for any wedding, and Etta’s vocals can’t be rivaled. Like years past, we expect couples to choose “At Last” in 2019 that want a classy song they know will never get old, just like their love.

10. “You’re My Best Friend” by Queen

Freddie Mercury’s recent biographical movie resurged a lot of Queen fans to revisit their amazing ballads. And, couples who knew their spouse was also their best friend, wanted to promote that in their first dance. We expect this to be a fun first dance song for couples that just want to have a good time with their best friend on their wedding, and for eternity!
